Collin County Mobility Collaboration is Now Funded and Operating

Six families from the participating partners in the Collaborative: Family Promise of Collin County County, Agape Resource Center, Hope's Door New Beginning Center, Shiloh Place and Collin County Cares, have entered as participants of this new program focused on single moms and their families. Each family is receiving significant savings in housing, childcare if needed, transportation and education. The goal of the program is to move the Mom to a head of household job that will allow her to provide for her children within one year. The 2 year program has been funded by a Toyota grant of $1,000,000 for direct services to these families . This Collin County collaborative is a unique partnership of local nonprofits whose individual mission are to serve homeless families with children in Collin County. They have joined together to work toward the eradication of homelessness in our community, and believe their strength is greater when working together! Family Promise of Collin County is excited to be part of this amazing team! Thanks to Toyota North America and Toyota Financial for believing in the power of partnership and the impact it can have in a community.

Just a few highlights for 2017:
  • The Advisory Council was created to increase the awareness of the FP program by inviting business leaders, former board members and supporters to meet twice a year to learn more about our program.  From this group we hoped to increase interest in family homelessness, recruit new board members and volunteers and new financial support for our programs.
  • During the end of the year appeal, we saw an increase in individual financial donors which enabled us to finish the year financially strong.
  • As a member of a Collin Collin collaborative we were part of receiving a $1,000,000 grant to serve single moms
  • We added a new position-Family Advocate
  • Received a first time grant from the Orix Foundation
  • Attended the National Family Promise Conference in Washington DC

A Night of Celebration

Thanks to everyone who attended our 2nd annual Celebration.  It was great to see our church partners, coordinators and volunteers come together and celebrate all that was accomplished in 2017.  Special thanks to Chase Oaks Sloan Creek for hosting the evening.  A special thanks to 3 of our amazing guests for taking a moment to share their gratitude to our volunteers and churches for what they have meant to them on this journey.  Tiffany, Lexus, Janet, Trevor and Roseanne, your words meant so much to us!  Take a look at some of the pictures from that special evening...
