ACTS OF COMPASSION HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THE LIVES OF FAMILIES
Discover the wide range of volunteer opportunities at Family Promise of Collin County – from preparing meals, to providing financial literacy training, to assisting with fundraising events. There is something for everyone!
Volunteers play an essential role in helping families experiencing homelessness attain sustainable independence.

While many of our volunteers fall under the network of a host church, we always welcome and encourage other individuals, couples and even groups to join with us to support our host congregations.
Our church-support volunteers can help in these specific ways:
-
Shop, cook and/or serve meals
-
Play with children or help them with homework
-
Serve as evening hosts where you interact with guests with respect and compassion
-
Provide overnight security by serving as an overnight, onsite host, sleeping at the host church
We do utilize volunteers in other areas including:
-
Special projects (Day Center up-keep, painting, etc.)
-
Fundraisers
-
Landscaping and Yard work
-
Birthday parties
-
Mechanics to assist with car repair
Volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application, criminal background check and orientation.

“Our (church) involvement opened our eyes to the fact that homelessness exists in Collin County. It has also educated us what homelessness in Collin County looks like."
